Discover the pristine winter wildernesses of the snowy Southern French Alps on snowshoes and choose from a range of other winter activities to add an extra adventure to your weekend.

For the two days snowshoeing our guides will take you off the beaten track to snowshoe up to a mountain col or summit, through snowy alpine plateau, along frozen streams and waterfalls and beautiful snow laden Alpine forests.

Expect to see mythical Alpine wildlife like chamois and ibex as well as foxes, deer and many birds amongst the stunning mountain scenery. You may even come across wolf tracks on your travels!

For your choice day, you have 3 activity points that you can exchange for a range of activities from skiing to paragliding to husky sledding.

You don't need any previous experience to enjoy snowshoeing or the other winter activities but a reasonable level of fitness is recommended as you will be walking in the mountains for two full days. Regular hill walkers, runners and gym goers will love this trip!

The guides we use for the snowshoeing are fully qualified UIAGM high mountain guides which is the highest qualification in the mountains. These are the guys who can take you up the north face of the Eiger. Whilst you won't be doing anything that extreme, the knowledge and experience of a high mountain guide means he has the flexibility and competence to take you wherever is safe. Other qualifications for snowshoeing are limited to the wide valley bottoms and pisted routes in Nordic areas.

Our guides are also wildlife experts and local to the area so you'll get their precious expert local knowledge and insight into the local wildlife to make your holiday truly memorable!

We will collect you from Marseille airport at 14h on your arrival day.

Please make sure you arrange your flights to coincide with this time. We are able to accommodate flight delays of up to 1 hour (leaving Marseille airport at 15h). If you require a transfer after 15h or at a different time of day, this will be an additional charge.

We are recommending people book onto the Ryan air flights from London Stanstead to Marseille which arrive on the Wednesday morning at 9h55. There is also a flight with British airways from London Heathrow that arrives at 10h30. If everyone manages to book onto these flights we will bring our transfer time forward so there is less waiting.

For the return, we will take you back to the airport for 11am. Please make sure you arrange your flights to coincide with this time.

There are flights from Marseille to London Stanstead with Ryan air leaving at 14h45 and with British Airways to London Heathrow leaving at 18h. Again if everyone books later flights we will be able to leave a little later in the morning!
