The Camping Napoléon is located just outside of Gap, the capital city of the Southern French Alps and has been there for almost half a century. It's located along the famous RN85 (also known as.. Route Napoléon!), a classic road in the French Alps that goes from Nice to Grenoble. The legend says that it is the road Napoléon followed when he came back from exile on the Elbe Island. History doesn't say if Napoléon stopped over for the night at the camping named after him, but today's campsite is definitely a great place to stay!
Open from April to November, it is ideally located between the Champsaur Valley and the Serre-Ponçon lake, two sites where most of our activities are run, and it's less than 5 minutes away by car from the centre of Gap and its many restaurants, bars and shops and lovely Saturday morning market.
The Camping Napoléon offers many accommodation options, from the traditional camping pitch to the brand new, fully fitted premium 50m2 wooden chalet. The views over the surrounding mountains are spectacular. There is a bar that offers food in the evening, a swimming pool, a playground for children of all ages, a pétanque pitch, and many events are organized every evening for the residents (yoga classes, cooking classes, etc.). All pitches have water and electricity, and there's a wi-fi connection available everywhere in the campsite.
From the Camping Napoléon, it will take you about 15' to reach the beautiful Champsaur Valley, and about 20' to the Serre-Ponçon lake, the largest artificial lake in Western Europe.

These campsite chalets are a well designed 35m2 with a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom, a double room (140cm bed) and room with bunk beds for children or teenagers. The sofabed in the living area can sleep an extra person. All chalets have a large terrace, big enough to set up a large table and furniture garden.

This is a beautiful campsite with a variety of south facing pitches in both shaded and open areas. The size varies but the average is around 100m2. On the campsite there are sanitation blocks with dish-washing areas, toilets and showers. There is a laundry area with washing machines and dryers and the possibility to hook up to 6A or 10A electricity with a European adapter. Camping cars are welcome and there are facilities for disposing of portable toilet waste. Price includes 1 vehicle, 1 tent and up to 6 people per pitch. Extra tents, vehicles are possible for a supplement on the same pitch. Pets are also allowed for a supplement and it is possible to pay for an electricity hook up for a supplement.

Contemporary and friendly, this Taos cottage has been designed with comfort and storage in mind to enjoy pleasant moments with family or friends. The Taos features a very spacious central living area, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, accommodating up to 6 people. South-Southeast facing terrace surrounded by trees. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge freezer, induction hob, microwave oven, pod coffee machine, toaster, complete dinnerware set, and a dishwasher. The cabin features three bedrooms: one with a double bed (160 x 190) and an en-suite bathroom, another with two single beds (80 x 190), and a third with two bunk beds (70 x 190) that shares a bathroom with the second bedroom. The sheet kits are made of cotton and include 2 flat sheets and one or two pillowcases. The bed is not made upon arrival; the kit is placed on the bed.

When you arrive and check in you will be given the full campsite policy and rules for the swimming pool, visitors, circulation of cars etc. Here are some of the most important rules that you should know about before you arrive.
Campsite Chalets:
Check in is after 16H00 and check out is before 10H00.
You will be asked for a security deposit of 200€ when you check in. Any missing items or damaged items identified will be taken from this deposit. In this case the balance will be returned to you by post within 2 months.
Sheets and bedding are provided in each chalet. A set of towels is available for an extra 6€ per person.
The chalets are rented in a clean and serviced state and must be returned in the same state at the end of your stay. This requires a full clean (bathroom, toilet, fridge, mirrors, floors, crockery, bin, beds stripped etc). Food must not be left in the cupboards. If the chalet is not cleaned to the expected standard, 50€ will be deducted form your deposit. It is possible to request a cleaner to do the end of stay cleaning for a fee of 50€ but the chalet will still need to be left in a tidy state with crockery washed and put away and all bins emptied.
If you wish to leave before your check out date, there will be no reimbursement.
No animals are permitted in the chalets.
Camping Pitches:
On each camping pitch there is space for 1 caravan and car, a tent and car or a camping car. Any extra vehicles are payable as extra.
Check in is after 14H00 and before 12H00 on your departure day.
GENERAL:
Noise:
All guests are asked to respect their neighbours and avoid making unnecessary loud noise. The campsite reserves the right to ask noisy guests to leave.
Visitors:
Visitors are allowed but must park outside the campsite and pay a visitors fee for each day they visit.
Circulation:
To avoid noise, the entry barrier will be closed at 23H00 and re-opened at 7H00. Speed is limited to 10km/h inside the campsite.
Swimming Pool:
The pool is reserved for clients of the campsite and is open from 10H00 to 20H00. Proper speedo type swimming trunks are required. Baggy swim shorts are not permitted.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. The pool is not surveyed by a lifeguard.
Animals:
Animals are permitted inside the campsite (except in chalets) but must be kept on a lead at all times. No animal waste is permitted inside the campsite and it is the owners responsibility to take their animals outside for their needs and to collect and dispose of any accidents. Animals must have up to date vaccinations. Dogs classed as dangerous dogs in category 1 and 2 are not allowed.
