NEW HOLIDAY for 2019!

This is a week of cross country skiing with your ski equipment, pass and some lessons to help get you started or, if you are already a seasoned cross country skier, to improve your technique so you can really make the most of your cross country skiing. You also have activity points that you can use to choose from a variety of other winter activities if you want a day or half day off from skiing.

You can choose either classic cross country skiing,  where you slide one ski in front of the other along predefined tracks in the snow or skating, which is more technical and a faster form of cross country skiing or a bit of both. If you are unsure of the different types of cross country skiing, read our blog, Cross Country Skiing Revealed which explains all the disciplines.

The Champsaur and Valgaudemar valleys in the Southern French Alps have 5 cross country ski domains with a multitude of different pistes to explore. Each domain has it's own special character from the dramatic steep valley of Valgaudemar, the pistes winding around the icy river of the Haute Champsaur and the wooded plateau of Col Bayard with its spectacular views over the valley.

Have a look any the piste maps for the four most popular domains:

Haute Champsaur Cross Country Ski Domain

Col Bayard Cross Country Ski Domain

Ancelle Cross Country Ski Domain

Valgaudemar Cross Country Ski Domain

It is also possible to go a bit further afield to Devoluy, or even the Queyras to really make the most of the Southern French Alps. Your pass covers the whole of the 04 and 05 departments in the Southern French Alps so you really don't ever need to ski on the same piste twice if you don't want to.

You don't need to have had any experience to enjoy this holiday but a good level of fitness is recommended to really enjoy cross country skiing as it is quite a physical sport.
