In the heart of the Champsaur Valley in a small village called Les Ricous, you will find one of the most enchanting accommodations in the region. Its young owners gave up on a stressful commuting life in Paris to return to nature and spent a few years renovating this old stone walled farm into two beautiful and charming apartments, the East Wing and the West Wing.

Each apartment is identical, decorated in a cosy alpine style with taste and charm. They are very well equipped with all mod cons and each have their own wood burner. One faces east and one faces west. The large windows of the cosy wood and stone living room area look out on to the mountains so you can have breakfast with the marmots or deer – which come close to the farmhouse almost every day!

They are totally independent, each with their own private space and entrance. However, with the unlocking of a couple of doors they can be joined together to sleep a capacity of 8 in total. Both apartments can welcome disabled people and are proud to be part of the "tourisme et handicap" program.

The Ecrins’ Farmhouse is ideal for a romantic alpine getaway, with an awe inspiring view over some of the most beautiful mountains of the valley.

The owners live at the other end of the farmhouse with their family and are keen on giving all kinds of useful information about what to do in this part of the valley as well as about the local fauna and flora.

The hamlet of Les Ricous is located at the entrance of the spectacular Champoléon Valley and a 5 minute drive away from the traditional village of Pont-du-Fossé, where you will find several shops and boutiques as well as a couple of local "eco-museums".

An added bonus with the Ecrins Farmhouse is that the owners provide free use of sporting equipment like snowshoes and mountain bikes so you can make the most of the area.

1 × East Wing (sleeps 4)

The East Wing is a perfect accommodation for a couple, but it can sleep up to 4 people thanks to a sofa bed in the living room. The double room boasts a 160cms bed and an ensuite bathroom and WC. As for the kitchen, it is both spacious and luminous thanks to large windows, and it is fitted with all the modern equipment as well as the indispensable raclette and fondue devices! There is also a beautiful open fireplace and the owners will be happy to provide the wood if you want to use it!

The large private terrace offers spectacular views over the mountains of the Champsaur Valley. The access to the Norwegian bath hot tub is reserved to the residents in both wings of the house.

There is a private parking as well as storage for your bikes or skis.

The West Wing is a perfect accommodation for a couple, but it can sleep up to 4 people thanks to a sofa bed in the living room. The double room boasts a 160cms bed and an ensuite bathroom and WC. As for the kitchen, it is both spacious and luminous thanks to large windows, and it is fitted with all the modern equipment as well as the indispensable raclette and fondue devices! There is also a beautiful open fireplace and the owners will be happy to provide the wood if you want to use it!

Board Options

This is a self catering property. Pont-du-Fossé is a 5 minute drive from the property and has a range of shops and restaurants, as well as a bakery and a butcher shop.

Policies

Minimum stay of 2 weeks from mid-June to mid-September.

You will be asked for a refundable security deposit of 300€ when you check-in.

There is an optional cleaning fee of 60€.

All self catering accommodations are rented on the basis that you will leave them in a tidy state at the end of your stay. This means emptying bins, stripping beds, emptying dishwasher and putting all crockery away and generally leaving the place in an orderly state. Please pay attention to this important rule.

Please note that pets are not allowed in the Ecrins Farmhouse. The gîte operates on a non smoking policy. Disabled people car have access to both wings of the house, which proudly wears the "tourisme et handicap" label.
