The Gite d'Etape le Chamois is located in a small hamlet in the heart of the Champsaur valley.
It's a great stop-over for walkers doing our famous Tour du Vieux Chaillol walking tour. The gite is basic but functional with everything you need for a comfortable night in the mountains!
There are dormitories sleeping from 6 to 9 people with shared toilets. There is a large lounge area and dining room which also has a fridge and microwave for your use. Brigitte, the owner, cooks delightfully and is a great host.
Sheets, pillows and covers are included. However we recommend that you bring a sleeping bag liner to sleep in as the sheets are not washed after every guest.
In the summer there is garden area outside with tables and chairs.

Brigitte cooks delicious homemade local food and serves dinner, breakfast, and can also prepare a picnic for your next day on the paths of the Tour du Vieux Chaillol.

This accommodation operates a no smoking policy.
Check in is after 16H00, however if you get there earlier at the end of your hiking day, you can simply relax in the garden and enjoy the wonderful views over the Champsaur Valley!
Check out is before 10H00 on the day of your departure.
It is possible to leave your car near the Gite Le Chamois if you are going off into the mountains or if this accommodation is where you start your Tour du Vieux Chaillol.
