The Gite les Aroncis is a wonderful house located in the middle of a spectacular and quiet environment about 20 minutes away from the Serre-Ponçon Lake and 25 minutes away from Gap, the main city in the Southern French Alps.
The name Aroncis derives from the "Source des Aroncis", a local source which allowed the original residents to build this place far away from the other existing villages.
Today, this place boasts perfect tranquility in the middle of the beautiful hills west of the Serre-Ponçon lake, as well as amazing views over the snow-capped mountains of the Écrins National Park.
The original farmhouse has been recently renovated and turned into a charming gite called La Cigale ("cicada" in French). The owner Martine made sure that the place kept some of the original rusticity of the farmhouse but she cleverly mixed it with modern features and decorated it with taste.
The Cigale offers a large living-room, a fully-fitted kitchen, a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, and three bedrooms that can comfortably house up to 7 people.
The garden that surrounds the house is full of beautiful flowers and trees, and there are many areas for kids to play games and adults to play pétanque.
To top it all, a beautiful swimming pool will allow you to make the most of this wonderful natural site, far away from the crowds. A barbecue set and a beautiful sun terrace overlooking the pool complete the picture. Can you already imagine yourself enjoying a perfect week of holiday in this little piece of heaven?

The Gite les Aroncis is a self catering place. You'll find grocery stores, bakeries and supermarkets in the nearby town of Chorges and in the city of Gap, less than half hour away.
Check in is between 16H00 and 19H00 and check out is before 10H30. Please let us know if you will be arriving outside of these hours so we can arrange an early or late entry for you if possible.
Sheets and linens and a set of towels are all included. Cleaning equipment and toilet rolls are not provided although sometimes previous visitors leave these in the accommodation.
When you check-in, you will be asked for a refundable security deposit of €250 euros. This sum will be returned to you on your departure day on the condition that nothing has been damaged or broken in the accommodation.
All self catering accommodations are rented on the basis that you will leave them in a tidy state at the end of your stay. This means emptying bins, stripping beds, emptying dishwasher and putting all crockery away and generally leaving the place in an orderly state.
If the accommodation is not left in an acceptable state, the owner reserves the right to deduct a sum from your deposit.
Smoking is forbidden inside the house, and pets are not allowed.
