A big thanks go to Emily, Susie, Sally and J-B for an epic Downhill Mountain Biking stag do in Orcieres! I highly recommend Undiscovered Mountains (UM) for anyone looking for an adventure in the mountains. My group enjoyed it so much, we are looking to book another adventure holiday with UM in the near future.
I found UM while looking for stag do's activities in the Alps. A lot of the activity companies only offered a minimum of a week while I was only looking for a long weekend. It was also nigh on impossible trying to book a hotel in the region and organise individual activities with the local companies. That's where UM came into their element. After explaining what I was looking for over the phone, they created a bespoke itinerary with several options all accessible from their customer portal which made for easy reviewing, booking and paying. They were very accommodating along every step, even when the size of the group and the airport changed.
Once the trip was booked I was put in contact with their local representative J-B, who answered all my questions about the activities and arranged to meet us at the airport. Everything went perfectly smooth on the day and he gave us a tour of the town on arrival showing us where we needed to go to collect our bikes, restaurants, bars etc.
Overall, it was an epic trip to the Alps and all perfectly organised by Undiscovered Mountains. An unforgettable experience and a truly legendary Stag do!
We had lunch at one of the mountain restaurants which was delicious and even had time to take a dip in one of the lakes.
We spent the evenings at the local bar where we befriended the bar staff who were friendly and all to happy to help the groom-to-be have a good time! We were sad to have to leave and could have done with another day... On the way home, J-B had booked a table at a local cheese restaurant for us. It had a stunning view of the valley and we had the most amazing raclette. There was even a cheese shop!
I highly recommend the Downhill Mountain Biking and Giant zip wire. It was incredible! We had high spec full suspension bikes, full protective gear, helmets with Go-Pro mounts and lift passes for the whole day, all prearranged. We simply showed our vouchers each step of the way. The views and the trails were spectacular! The zip wire was 1.9km, 70s, 130kph where you free-fall head first from the top of the mountain taking in the scenery.
