All the freedom of an independent trip — with none of the faff.
Want a summer in the Alps that feels truly yours — not a holiday centre, not a rigid group itinerary, but without the stress of spending hours researching, booking, checking safety standards, and wondering if everything will run smoothly?
This is a tailor-made, flexible multi-activity holiday based in the quieter corner of the Southern French Alps. You choose what you fancy doing, and we build a smooth, realistic itinerary around your dates, your group, your activity choices and your energy levels so you can simply arrive and enjoy.
Whether you’re travelling as a family with kids or teenagers, an outdoorsy couple after a long weekend, or a group of adventurous friends, we’ll help you find the right mix of activities so everyone has a brilliant time even if you don’t all want the same thing.
You’ll receive a set number of activity points to spend across our menu of adventures. That gives you genuine flexibility (and makes planning easy for mixed ages and interests), while still having everything professionally organised and supported.
Our team is based here, and we work with experienced, fully qualified instructors and trusted local suppliers — so you get the reassurance and safety standards of a specialist operator, while still enjoying the independence of your own holiday.
Choose from a range of accommodation to suit your style and budget, from camping and cosy guesthouses to chalet or hotel options.
Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive a personal login to select your activities. From there, you hand it over to us: we take care of the bookings, timings and local logistics so the trip runs smoothly. You’ll receive a personalised itinerary, a travel app, and a welcome briefing on arrival so everything feels easy from day one.
It’s your holiday - just without the uncertainty.
There are so many activities and adventures to do, you'll be spoilt for choice! One day you might be splashing through a canyon, jumping into clear pools, the next walking to a mountain refuge for lunch with a view. Add a via ferrata for a proper high-wire challenge, try white-water rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, paragliding… and balance it all with relaxed lake time. You choose the ingredients - we make it work beautifully.
This holiday is available from April to September and whilst the range of activities may change during the different seasons, there is enough choice for an action packed Spring half term for families as well as the summer holidays. For outdoor lovers not tied to school holidays there is a huge amount to discover both inside and outside of the summer season! If you are looking for this sort of holiday specifically in the Autumn or for October half term, then please have a look at our Autumn Multi Activity holiday in the Alps.

Planning a summer multi-activity holiday in the Alps often raises a few questions. Below are some of the most common questions guests ask before booking our flexible summer multi-activity holidays in the Southern French Alps.
Our summer multi-activity holidays are designed for active travellers who enjoy the mountains and want to try a range of outdoor adventures. Most guests are families with older children, teenagers or adult children, but the holiday is also popular with couples and small groups of friends looking for an active break in the Alps.
Your holiday includes a set number of activity points, which you can exchange for a wide range of mountain adventures. You can choose different activities within your group and split the points however you wish. Once we receive your choices, we create a personalised itinerary using our local knowledge and trusted activity providers so everything runs smoothly and you can simply enjoy the holiday.
All activities are worth different numbers of points. For example, a via ferrata may be 2 points, river kayaking 1.5 points and canyoning 3 points. With a week that includes 10 activity points per person, you can usually expect around 5 high-quality activities, depending on the options you choose.
No previous experience is required for most activities. Many guests try canyoning, climbing or via ferrata for the first time during the holiday. Guides explain techniques clearly, provide all necessary safety equipment and help you choose options suited to your level, so beginners can join with confidence.
This holiday works particularly well for mixed ages and even different generations because each person can choose different activities if they wish. Many activity locations also offer different levels, allowing beginners and more confident participants to enjoy the experience at their own pace while we make sure the logistics work smoothly for your group.
Most families travel with older children, teenagers or adult children, but the holiday is generally suitable from around 7 years old upwards. Younger children who enjoy being active outdoors can also enjoy the trip, with different activity options available depending on age, confidence and the time of year.
Our trips take place in the quieter corner of the Southern French Alps, an area known for its sunny climate, authentic mountain villages, clear rivers and lakes, and huge variety of outdoor activities. It is a less commercial part of the Alps, with a more local feel and plenty of adventure within a relatively short distance.
All activities are led by qualified and experienced mountain guides and instructors. We vet our activity providers every year to make sure training, insurance and professional standards are up to date. High-quality technical equipment is provided and safety briefings are given before each activity so everyone knows how to take part safely.
Yes. The standard activity points allocation is designed to give you a good balance between adventure and free time. You can relax by a mountain lake, visit local markets, explore alpine villages or enjoy an evening on a terrace. If you would prefer a more action-packed holiday, extra activity points can also be added after booking.
Mountain weather can vary, so we remain flexible. If conditions are not suitable for a planned activity, we can usually adjust the day, change location or suggest an alternative activity. Thanks to our local knowledge, trusted contacts and the generally excellent weather in the Southern French Alps, it is very rare that we cannot find a good solution.
You pay a 25% deposit when you book, and the balance is payable six weeks before your holiday.
The nearest major town is Gap which is just south of Grenoble and north of Marseilles. Gap has a train station which links to the major TGVs such as Aix-en-Provence, Valence and Grenoble and also has a night train directly from Paris. The nearest airports are Marseilles, Grenoble or Lyon but Nice, Turin and Geneva are also drivable distance.
This is a self-drive holiday. We strongly recommend having your own car so you can get to your activity meeting points easily and make the most of the region in your downtime — lakes, valleys, villages and viewpoints are all best accessed by car, and public transport is limited.
However, if you are a group with a full itinerary and would like a quote for a transport included holiday, please just let us know when you make your enquiry.
If you are looking for a car free holiday, then have a look at our Alps to Provence along the Durance Cycle Touring Holiday as this is a very flexible trip with lots of activity options which can be tailored into a bike and train led multi activity holiday.
