This is a cosy alpine style chalet situated in large grounds on a sunny south facing mountainside.
On the ground floor there is an entrance hall with washing machine and space for storage, one twin bedroom (80 x 200cm beds), a bathroom with shower and separate toilet, and kitchen diner with table and chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge.
Upstairs there is a mezzanine area with sofa and TV and a double bedroom (200 x 160cm bed that can be separated into twin beds). The actual chalet is quite small but well maintained and nicely decorated with attention to detail giving it a warm and cosy feel!
Outside, there is a large garden (1600m2) with mountain views and an outside summer kitchen with bbq and pizza oven and lots of little places to sit and take in the sunshine. The chalet is situated near to the village of La Batie Neuve with a range of shops and restaurants.
In summer, it is perfectly located for a quick access (a 15 minute drive) to the Serre-Ponçon Lake, the largest artificial lake in France and a major activity hub. It is also very close to a full range of mountain based activities, including hiking, horse riding, rock climbing, paragliding, etc.
In winter, there are several ski villages and resorts within a 30 minute drive and a range of other winter activities like husky sledding snowshoeing and ice climbing not far away!
A perfect getaway for a family or couple looking for a summer or winter activity holiday combined with some peace and quiet in a beautiful location. Sleeps up to four people plus baby or toddler.

The Carpe Diem chalet is a self catering accommodation.
You'll find a range of shops and restaurants in the nearby towns of La Bâtie-Neuve and Chorges (which also holds a lovely market on Sunday morning), and Gap and its many supermarkets and stores is just about 20 minutes away by car.

Check in at the Carpe Diem chalet is between 16H00 and 18H00 on Saturdays and you will need to call the owner when you are near the property so they can meet you. If you are arriving outside of these times, please contact us so we can arrange an alternative check in. You will be asked for a security deposit of 300€ (only payable in cash)
Check out is before 10H00 on the day of your departure and the owner will visit the property with you to check everything is in order and return your security deposit. If you plan on leaving earlier, please arrange a suitable time with the owner at check in for this visit.
Sheets are included but towels & tea towels aren't so please bring your own, or you can also ask the owners to provide them for 5€ per person. Please note that cleaning equipment and toilet rolls are not provided, although sometimes previous visitors leave these in the house.
Please note that all self catering accommodations are rented on the basis that you will leave them in a tidy state at the end of your stay. This means: emptying bins, stripping beds, emptying dishwasher and putting all crockery away and generally leaving the place in an orderly state. Please note that if the accommodation is not left in an acceptable state, the owner reserves the right to deduct a sum from your deposit. The Carpe Diem Chalet accommodation operates a no smoking policy, and animals are not permitted.
