The Tour de France comes through different parts of the Alps every year with major towns and ski resorts jockeying for position as the hill climb or arrival town each year. Thanks to the amazing hill cycling all around the southern French Alps, this part of France is frequently chosen for the Alps stages!

For 2020, the Tour de France will be going from Sisteron in Provence to the ski resort of Orcieres in the Alps culminating in a spectacular hill climb on the edge of the Ecrins National park.

We have an exclusive property situated on this climb with a large terrace overlooking the route where you will spend the Tour de France day with a BBQ watching this historic event.

The following day is the depart from Gap so not only do you get to see a hill climb you can soak in the atmosphere of a big departure day from the capital of the southern French Alps, Gap!

The nearest major city is Gap which is just south of Grenoble and north of Marseilles. Gap has a train station which links to the major TGVs such as Aix-en-Provence and Lyon and also has a night train directly from Paris. The nearest airports are Marseilles, Grenoble or Lyon but Nice, Turin and Geneva are also drivable distance.

Whilst we will take you up to your exclusive Tour de France viewing spot on 30 June, we highly recommend you self drive rather than let us drive you to and from the activities for the rest of your stay.
