Malcolm Roisin - Summer Multi Activity Holiday

October 2014

Overview

Myself and a mate (both old geezers in our fifties) were actually planning something else - which fell through almost at the last minute.. So my wife (bless her) organised a week with Undiscovered Alps at very short notice. Sally was very helpful in responding quickly and effectively to all the questions we had about the activities, costs, accomodation, etc A week later the two of us flew in for what turned out to be a memorable trip !

We were out of our comfort zone almost every day - doing things we had never done before. Monday was canyoning. Tuesday was the via ferrata. Wednesday was white water canoeing. Thursday was paraglyding. Friday was kayaking - and Saturday we "rested" by clambering up one of the local peaks (Pic de Gleize). You brought your own footwear - they supplied the rest as required: wetsuits, hardhats and climbing harnesses. The same with instruction. If you needed to have something explained, this was forthcoming - generally in reasonable english. On the day, each group was small (3/4/5 people) which made for a close, well organised group. Even the weather was great - so the spectacular mountain and valley scenery was shown at it's best.

I had never heard of Undiscovered Alps before and this was our first trip with them - I'd be delighted to go back again !
