We went snowshoeing for the first time at 65+ and were delighted with the informal but competent way in which our holiday week with Undiscovered Alps in 2010 was organised.
We liked the fact that we could choose how much time to spend in organised activity (watching chevreuil and wild boar and snowshoeing on terrain we would not have ventured on by ourselves)and how much time on our own routes worked very well.
Several maps were provided on the first evening and Sally was always available when day to day arrangements had to be modified (such as when we got snowed in!). But fear not, the French authorities clear the roads very quickly, but we would strongly recommend snow tyres for cars.... We returned fitter and very relaxed.
