Sara Buchanan - Winter Multi Activty Holiday in the Alps

March 2023

Overview

We had an absolutely wonderful family holiday, with Undiscovered Mountains in Orcieres-Merlettes during February half term 2023. This was our first family skiing holiday with our two teenage boys. My husband and I had skied previously, although not for several years and our two boys were more or less beginners, having had a couple of lessons in the snow dome back in the UK.

We chose a multi-activity holiday, which included 4 family ski lessons, a biathlon experience, the snake-sled down the mountain, zipline and the absolute highlight - husky-sledding. We would thoroughly recommend the whole thing! Sally and her team were so friendly and helpful throughout.

Sally offered fantastic advice to plan our activities and find the best value accommodation before we went and JB was on hand throughout the week to help us make the most of our itinerary.

Bernard and Veran, our ski instructors were brilliant - they focused on getting us all to the same level so we could enjoy skiing together and we all felt we improved a lot with just a few hours of lessons.

The resort is great for beginners as there are nursery slopes half way up the mountain as well as at the bottom, so plenty of variety and it's possible to ski on a green and blue runs all the way down.

The resort is super friendly, has a lovely local feel to it and is a good size - easy to find great places to eat, a good choice of accommodation and a great leisure centre for some off-piste fun! We had non-stop sunshine for the whole week and certainly didn't need all our layers. The whole experience was brilliant from start to finish and we can't wait to return!
