The Rabioux Forestry Commission Refuge

The Rabioux Forestry Commission Refuge

The Forestry Commission in France have restored a number of old buildings situated in the midst of their vast terrain of natural wilderness and managed forest in the Alps.

The Rabioux refuge is one of these amazing places in the heart of nature in an old abandoned village. These refuges are not open to the public and can only be booked as a private reservation through one of the Forestry Commission's partners. We are lucky to be a Forestry Commission partner and can offer you exclusive access to this amazing refuge as part of a "Retrouvance©" (meaning re-discovery) walking or mountain biking holiday.

The refuge has 6 twin bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and toilet. Water comes from a nearby source and there is a water heating facility and limited electricity but enough for lighting and basics. There's a lounge with cosy wood-burner for those cool autumn or spring evenings and a large dining room.
