The Hotel Autanes is a family run three to four star hotel located in a pretty alpine village in the heart of the Champsaur valley in the Southern French Alps.
The rooms were entirely renovated during the pandemic of 2020 and 2021 creating a range of four star graded beautiful modern chalet style mini-apartments as well as hotel bedrooms. The apartments come in a range of sizes and are equipped with a kitchenette, ensuite bathrooms (sometimes 2 bathrooms) and flat screen TV. There are twin, double and family rooms with three adapted for wheelchair users. All the bedrooms are ensuite and have a flat screen TV.
Some of the original 3 star hotel rooms are still available for the summer of 2021 with the next phase of renovation due in the Autumn, to make the hotel fully four star. However all the rooms currently featured on our website are the new four star rooms. Please ask if you would prefer a 3 star option for your trip.
There's a heated indoor pool and hot tub for residents use. On hot summer days the roof is sometimes pulled back making it an outdoor pool. Inside there is also a relaxation area with spa, sauna and steam room which is payable as extra. You can also book massages and a range of other beauty treatments. Just what you need after a day in the mountains before tucking in to a hearty meal in the on-site restaurant!
The restaurant serves mountain and local specialities including fondue and raclette and has a vaulted ceiling which creates a wonderful ambiance.
Conference facilities are available with private rooms fully equipped with flat screen TV, DVD, Wi-Fi, paperboard and a variety of different seating options.
The staff at the Autanes Hotel are very friendly and hospitable and although some speak better English than others they are all willing to have a go and will look after you during your stay!
The hotel is just a few minutes walk from downhill and cross country skiing and snowshoeing in winter with a range of other activities close by. In summer it is a great base for a variety of activities including walking, mountain biking, via ferrata, canyoning, rock climbing... and much more! The village has a regular market and is situated on an awe-inspiring plateau surrounded by mountains.

This beautiful mini-apartment of 33m2 is equipped with kitchenette (please note the kitchenettes are only available for 4 night stays or longer in low season and for a minimum of 7 nights in high season) ensuite bathrooms with italien shower, flat screen TV and a balcony. There are 2 single beds which can be joined to form a large 180cm x 200cm double bed and lounge area with pull out single bed. You will need to pay a security deposit and sign a rental agreement for the apartment.

These beautiful mini-apartments come in a range of sizes (30-50m2) and unique configurations with kitchenette (please note the kitchenette is only available for 4 night stays or longer in low season and for a minimum of 7 nights in high season), ensuite bathrooms with italien shower, flat screen TV and some have a balcony. Each apartment sleeps up to 4 people with either 2 single beds which can be joined to form a large 180cm x 200cm double bed or a king size 160cm x 200cm bed and quality convertible sofa with stow away bed. It is also possible to add a small child's bed for a family of five. You will need to pay a security deposit and sign a rental agreement for this apartment.

Check in is between 15H00 and 19H00, and check out is before 10H30 on the day of your departure.
It is forbidden to smoke in the rooms, and pets are not authorized at the Autanes Hotel.
If you're coming with your own bikes, there is a small garage right across the street where you can safely leave them.
If you are renting one of the rooms that can also transform into an apartment option with kitchenette you will also have to pay a security deposit of 300 €, and sign a rental agreement on arrival. The rental agreement asks you to strip the beds, empty and clean the fridge, clean and tidy away all crockery and kitchen utensils and equipment and sweep and mop the floors and bathrooms at the end of your stay. There is an option to pay a cleaning supplement of 80€ if you wish.
