The Forest chalet is a lovely wooden chalet with alpine character situated in the heart of a pretty ski village.
The owner has ingeniously created several interlinking apartments to cater for different sized groups. There is an independent apartment for 4 to 6 people and a separate larger apartment that sleeps 10 people but can go up to 14 people using an extra ensuite room.
It is also possible to hire the whole chalet for up to 20 people.
The bedding is duvets and sheets and duvet covers are provided.
The chalet is adjoining the owner's property but the apartments have an independent entrance and private terrace and garden with chairs and table and a ski locker / space for mountain bikes.
In winter you are a stone's throw from downhill skiing pistes and cross country skiing and there are snowshoe walks straight from your door and a range of other activities not far away.
In summer you are perfectly located for a range of activities including canyoning, via ferrata, rock climbing, mountain biking and walking and are 10 mins from the swimming lake and 30 mins from the Serre-Ponçon Lake with a range of water sports.

There is an open plan living area (25 m2;) with a dining area with table and chairs and a kitchenette (dishwasher, microwave oven, oven, hob, fridge), a bathroom and separate toilet and a large ensuite bedroom (28 m2;) which sleeps up to four people with one double and two single beds. There is a separate lounge with TV and sofa bed (for two people). This apartment has a private sun terrace.

On the first floor there is a 45 m2 large open plan living area with sofas, armchairs and coffee table, TV, a dining area with table and chairs and a well equipped kitchen (dishwasher, microwave oven, oven, hob, washing machine, fridge, freezer), a bathroom and separate toilet.
On this floor there is also a large ensuite bedroom (28 m²) which sleeps up to four people (one double and two single beds) which is used when there are over ten people booked into the apartment. When this room is not used the price is slightly cheaper.
On the second floor there are two bedrooms each sleeping four people (with a double bed and two single beds in each room) and an alcove with a double bed, a bathroom and separate toilet.
There is a sun terrace with views over the village and mountains.

This is a self catering chalet but the owner also offers a 'meals on wheels' service for evening meals. Please let us know when you book so we can organise it.
The village of Ancelle offers a nice variety of good restaurants for all budgets, as well as a bakery and grocery store.

Check in is between 16H00 and 19H00 and you will need to call the owner when you are near the property so they can meet you. If you are arriving outside of these times, please contact us so we can arrange an alternative check in. You will be asked for a security deposit of 500€ (only payable in cash)
Check out is before 10H30 on the day of your departure and the owner will visit the property with you to check everything is in order and return your security deposit. If you plan on leaving earlier, please arrange a suitable time with the owner at check in for this visit.
Sheets are included but towels & tea towels aren't so please make sure you bring your own. Please note that cleaning equipment and toilet rolls are not provided, although sometimes previous visitors leave these in the house.
Please note that all self catering accommodations are rented on the basis that you will leave them in a tidy state at the end of your stay. This means: emptying bins, stripping beds, emptying dishwasher and putting all crockery away and generally leaving the place in an orderly state. Please note that if the accommodation is not left in an acceptable state, the owner reserves the right to deduct a sum from your deposit.
The Forest Chalet accommodation operates a no smoking policy (inside the house), and animals are not permitted.
