The Gite d'Etape du Casset is located in a small hamlet called Le Casset in the heart of the spectacular Valgaudemar valley.
It is a great stop-over for walkers doing our famous Tour du Vieux Chaillol or mountain bikers on the tour of the Champsaur and Valgaudemar valleys.
The building is a traditional stone farmhouse and it is a youth hostel style accommodation. It is basic but functional, with everything you need for a comfortable night in a refuge!
There are dormitories sleeping from 2 to 15 people with shared toilets. Sheets, pillows and covers are included. However we recommend that you bring a sleeping bag liner to sleep in as the sheets are not washed after every guest!
In the summer, you can enjoy a lovely terrace outside of the Gite with amazing views over the surrounding Himalayesque mountains of the Valgaudemar Valley.

The meals are prepared every day by Sonia and Norbert and it is great local food. We highly recommend it!

This accommodation operates a no smoking policy.
Check in is after 16H00, however if you get there earlier at the end of your hiking day, you can simply relax in the garden and enjoy the stunning views over the Valgaudemar Valley!
Check out is before 10H00 on the day of your departure.
It is possible to leave your car near the Gite Le Chamois if you are going off into the mountains or if this accommodation is where you start your Tour du Vieux Chaillol.
