Philippe and Maryanna have renovated this traditional farmhouse and turned it into a wonderful guest house "La Tourtette" preserving its Alpine character with added modern comforts.
It is situated in a beautiful Alpine village, nestled in the heart of the Dévoluy massif. The accommodation boasts a commanding position over the old village, offering breathtaking views of the church bell tower in the foreground and the iconic mountain of the Pic de Bure in the background.
The heart of La Tourtette is a charming and spacious room, serving as the central gathering place. It opens onto a sunny terrace, adjacent to a fresh fountain and a bucolic garden. Here, guests enjoy breakfast and evening meals at a large, convivial table.
The owners live on the main floor, and have built five ensuite bedrooms in the house. All of them are accessible with a private entrance for more privacy.
The 5 bedrooms at La Tourtette are ensuite. Three of them ("Red", "Blue" and "Green") are double rooms and the other two (Studio and Family) can accommodate up to 4 people thanks to bunk beds. In the summer, it is a heavenly place to spend a quiet holiday, thanks to the private garden around the house and lovely views and is superb as a base for walking holidays. In the winter, you are just minutes away from the main ski resort of the Dévoluy Valley (called SuperDévoluy) and its 55 pistes.
The owners are very hospitable and take great care of their customers. Their homemade food is delicious, and they are always happy to share their knowledge of the area. Maryanna & Philippe are quite the cycling and walking experts, and there are practically no roads around they haven't ridden or mountains they haven't climbed!
Last but not least, one of the main assets of this accommodation is its superb location. The Tourtette guesthouse is situated in the heart of the Dévoluy Valley, a truly awe inspiring mountainous environment. The Dévoluy is a massive range of limestone mountains and boasts some of the most stunning summits in the area as well as spectacular cliffs and deep gorges. A pretty fascinating - and largely preserved - gem in the heart of the Southern French Alps!
