Chateau Laric

Christophe Catalan, the owner of this beautiful 14th century castle, decided a few years ago to turn it into a charming B&B. The Chateau is located in this part of the Southern French Alps where the boundaries become blurred between mountains and hills, between alpine and provençal landscapes, between the cool, high altitude temperatures and this typical southern feel, in which the uninterrupted song of the cicadas and the surrounding hills will make you feel like you're approaching the "Grande Bleue", the Mediterranean Sea. 

In any case, spending a few relaxing hours in the beautiful garden that lies in front of the castle, sipping a refreshing beverage in the shade of the centennial trees, definitely feels like holidays! Be prepared: leaving the next morning will be hard!

The Chateau Laric offers two beautiful and spacious suites on the first floor, both decorated with taste and boasting ensuite bathrooms. Between the two suites, a lovely salon with a library and many paintings (most of them painted by the owner himself) is the perfect place for a relaxing evening when the last lights of the day have gone out. 

The kitchen and dining room are located on the main floor. Christophe cooks delicious food and will be happy to serve it outside on the terrace if you're looking for the perfect romantic evening! All the ingredients he uses are coming from the local farmhouses, and the continental breakfast he serves every morning is 100% organic. 

Facing the awe inspiring Devoluy mountains, the Chateau Laric is ideally located just outside of a hamlet called Chabestan, between the charming towns of Veynes and Serres. Mostly used by the mountain bikers doing our famous Alps to Provence MTB tour, it is a perfect one night stop to relax after a few days of intense biking in the mountains, and the gate to Provence. Gone are the snow capped mountains of the Ecrins National Park, you will from now on evolve amidst those typical green and gentle hills that make this famous region so charming.
