Overview
I had a fantastic time with Bernard and Sally and the other guests for the wolf tracking experience. The location is stunning with dramatic mountains and valleys cloaked with woodland. The perfect place for walking and wildlife tracking. It was really interesting to learn from Bernard who is a local and very experienced with tracking as he used to do a lot of hunting. I learnt a lot about the complexities of local human/wildlife conflicts. We saw wolf tracks and poo as well as mouflon, chamois, vultures, golden eagles, snake eagles and black woodpeckers to name a few things. I enjoyed the off-path adventure on the small hunting routes that Bernard knew well. I would never have found these or been confident navigating on these in dense woodland on my own. Because of the timing, the woodland floor and thorny scrub was bursting with spring flowers and the butterfly and bees were emerging for the summer. The old church accommodation was also fantastic. Like a posh Scottish bothy vibe. And we ate an absolute feast every night, collectively cooked. I would definitely recommend Undiscovered Mountains to anyone else.
