Auberge des Ecrins

Auberge des Ecrins

Basic but comfortable - this is a great little Auberge newly refurbished in unique style of modern funky decor in a rustic mountain setting!

It is situated in the beautiful Champoléon valley just at the entrance to the Ecrins National Park, one of the most dramatic mountain ranges of the French Alps.

There are 10 rooms in total sleeping from 2 to 4 people, all of which are ensuite. The actual rooms are decorated in the same modern style and are basic but comfortable. On the landings of each floor there is a chill out area with chairs and a TV.

The accommodation has a very good restaurant (which caters for vegetarians exceptionally well), a bar, internet access and some of the most beautiful views in the area!

The Auberge is run by a team of passionate outdoories and foodies, headed up by Stephanie and Laurent who will ensure you are well looked after. The Auberge is quite a local community hub and every month during the high seasons the managers organise a concert or event with local musicians and artists. It's always a good fun night and well worth the experience!

In winter you have cross country skiing, ice climbing and snowshoeing straight from your door with the resort of Orcières and several ski villages just 15 minutes away.

In summer it is a perfect location for mountain bikers, walkers and a base for paragliding.
